DONOUSSA:

Donousa is a small paradise for those who want to enjoy a beautiful holiday in nature. It is an ideal place to relax and get away from the everyday life of the city. It is located east of Naxos and north of Amorgos and consists of the following settlements: Stavros or Kambos, Messaria, Mersini and Kalotaritsa.

 The largest village and port of the island is Stavros, located at the southwestern edge of the island in a sheltered bay. It is a picturesque settlement with an authentic Cycladic identity that enchants the visitor.

In the village of Stavros there are the most shops of the island, taverns, supermarkets, bars and restaurants. There you will find the town hall, the Hospital and the little church "Panagitsa" at the top of the hill with a magnificent view.

Stavros has maybe the most crowded sandy beach in Donousa due to easy access. Although it is in the harbor, its waters are clean and not far from any of the other beaches of Dodousa.

Apart from Stavros, the island also has 3 more beautiful and picturesque villages:

The village of Messaria or Haravgi, which is located in the southern part of Dodou and is about 2 km from Stavros.
The village of Mersini, which is a rural village, built on a hillside with stunning views of the Aegean Sea. At the top of the hill is built Agia Sofia with the homonymous feast on September 17th.
The village of Kalotaritissa is 10 km from Stavros. There you can see the church of Agios Georgios and swim in the blue waters of one of the small beaches of the area.

In Donousa you can spend peaceful and peaceful holidays, enjoying the sea and the mountain delicious local delicacies.

SIGHTSEEING:

The Tichos Cave is located on the northwest of the island, Fokospilia, located in Cape of Moschonia, shelter of the seal, the remains of the settlements of the geometric period, the church of the Holy Cross, the church of Panagia, Ormos Kedrou, at the bottom of which the wreck of a German ship sank there by the Allies during the Second World War, the church of St. John etc.



Donousa has a coastal connection with the following ports: Piraeus, Amorgos, Astypalea, Irakleia, Koufonisia, Naxos, Paros, Santorini, Schinousa.
